This recipe is for decoration only! DO NOT EAT!
What You’ll Need:

1 Tablespoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup applesauce
2 Tablespoon white glue (like Elmer’s All Multipurpose White Glue)
Festive Christmas ribbon

2. Add applesauce and glue; stir to combine.
3. Work mixture with hands 2 to 3 minutes or until dough is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
4. Divide into four portions. On floured surface, roll each portion to 1/4 inch thickness.
5. Cut dough with floured cookie cutters of desired shapes. Using straw or toothpick, make a small hole in the top of the ornament.

7. Thread ribbon through hole in ornament.
Pasta Tree Table Decoration
This is a fun craft I remember doing in the first or second grade. You can create some wonderful memories with your children creating unique and surprisingly elegant pasta “trees”.
What You’ll Need:
- Heavy cardboard (not corrugated!)
- Elmer’s glue
- Binder clips
- Several different shapes of pasta
- Spray paint (Gold, Silver, Green or Red)
- Glitter
The day before you will make your decorations, cut the cardboard into a circle about 10 to 18 inches in diameter. (Your table top tree will be the height of the radius, half the diameter.)
Cut the circle in half. Curl each half circle up on itself until it forms a code. Glue or stable this together. You can use the binder clips to hold it together while the glue dries.
Cover the work surface with some old newspapers — this can be a very messy craft!
Take different pasta shapes and glue them to the outside of the code. These represent both leaves and ornaments. Cover as much of the cone’s surface as you can.
Let it dry … about an hour.
Now take your cones outside and spray paint them. Before the paint can dry, sprinkle with glitter.
Let your creation dry overnight. Be sure to shake any loose glitter free before bringing it inside.

Christmas Cat Ornament
Above and beyond that, since cats love to play with baubles, not only are there plenty of tales of cats creating havoc with the holiday decorations, but there are plenty of Christmas toys for cats, too.
In this post, I’m going to share an idea that cats and cat-lovers who appreciate unique cat Christmas ornaments are just going to love.
Hand Painted Art
Hand painted Christmas ornaments are a small way that you can have exquisite are hanging from your Christmas tree. If you’re lucky, you can find an ornament that has been created in the form of a cat. The cat’s face is painted right on the glass bulb. Two soft ears are glued on to the top of the bulb. This adorable item comes in many different styles and each kitty has a cute expression. None are identical so this cat Christmas ornament is truly one of a kind.
Make Your Own
What You Need:
Paint your cat face on the body of the ornament. Set it aside to dry.
Cut two triangles from the felt. Once the ornament is dry, glue the triangles to the top to form the ears.
Ta da! You’ve got a hand-painted cat Christmas ornament!
